Exuberant Art from the Heart
I was educated both locally and abroad, with a degree in biology, a stint of MBA, a dash of business and computer science, and of course — Art. During my early years, my education and my work instilled the importance of thinking and logic. And boy did I plan and charted all of my courses then.
Later in life I realize more and more about the importance of balance, that very few are absolutes, and that there are more than 256 shades of gray alone. I also found that being patient and to surrender in faith while things unfolding is the most joyous path. More importantly I found that decisions made through the wisdom of the heart are unfailingly the kindest, the gentlest and will give the best result to all.
While my mind is in charge, I paint under a thorough planning, following the guidelines I picked along my art learning. The source of inspiration will be real, such as flowers, sceneries and pictures. But the more exciting process is when the inspirations come from within; be it from a dream, meditation, vision, or just straight imagination. Once I surrender to my inner guidance; everything will glide, time will stop, the colors will call for themselves, the composition will work out itself, and the title will be whispered. Oh joy!
My paintings, especially the abstracts, are the reflection of my state of being. When my feeling of joy and gratitude for life surge; the paintings will be filled with sparkling and vibrant colors, bold strokes, positive energy and movements. When peace reigns; the calmness and stillness will enter, spheres will appear, and in flow the soothing colors.
Having worked in local and international companies in various countries spread in three continents has opened me to the beauty of various cultures and traditions. Having visited so many galleries and museum in more than thirty countries has sharpened my eyes and deepened my appreciation of the wonderful different ways to express art. I am a member or board member of several art organizations. I have participated in many art exhibitions and currently have ongoing shows in the East Bay.
I believe art heals, unites people and transcends differences. Through art I wish to give joy, bring beauty to people’s life and touch people’s hearts.
